Killian is an angry young man trying to make sense of his circumstances and the mess that is life. Most analyses of him put the blame squarely on the parents, and not without good reason. He tries to find tranquility in an obscure religion verging on heresey. When that doesn't work he pounds things to shit with a huge-ass hammer.
He's a muscular, pale-skinned young man in heavy armour. His short blond hair is so light as to almost be white. And kind of feathery. His eyes are gold; really kind of goldy gold in a golden way. And he has a halo. Some people just like to show off.
Killian was conceived whilst his father, Emrys, was still an angel, and his angelic heritage is clearly visible (angel-blooded aasimar with halo). As a reward for his services, Iomedae granted Emrys a few brief years of happiness with Shandy Radler in a lakehouse in a pocket dimension. Here they raised their son in seclusion from the real world, just long enough for the timeline between WotW and IGs to make sense. Fearful for the safety of her son given his unusual heritage, Shandy Radler daily invoked arcane charms and drilled the boy in the science of wards against evil magic (arcane heritage bloodline). His father focussed on instilling melee skills -- a vow he had sworn to Iomedae had seen him give up the black powder, so even though he was the surest shot in the whole of Golarion (with Six having winked out of existence), he was not able to pass on these skills to his boy. Killian's later fuck-you to his father was to swear off swords and embrace the hammer instead.
Too soon, Emrys was once again needed in the services of Iomedae and sent on another suicide mission. When he didn't return, Shandy Radler sought the guidance of her former hellish masters to try to track him down. She left Killian in the custody of Soros, the halfling companion of Emrys, and asked that he take the boy to Emrys's kellid tribe in Numeria, which she hoped would be safely off the grid. Killian has seen neither parent since this parting. Soros was good to his word and delivered Killian to his father's tribe and stayed nearby to mentor him. Here he was accepted and was raised through his adolescence. He adopted the ways of the tribe and trained as a berserker warrior, his unusual heritage and initial training will come through though, so he will develop into a bloodrager. Another way in which he differs from his tribal ways is in his approach to armour. He knew that his father had eschewed the hide armours of his tribe when he embraced the worship of Iomedae, so it was natural for Killian to seek out these heavier styles too. Plus he wasn't dumb (Trait: Armour Expert).
With the tribe he lived much as his father had in his early days, avoiding the patrols of the Black Sovereign, and scraping up the odd piece of skymetal to sell to southern merchants. But although his people raised him, and though he has family among them, his alien heritage is rather hard for them to take, so they are not entirely comfortable with him. Also in parallel to his father's own journey, Soros introduced him to the pilgrim route, with all the colour that that entailed, up the Sellen River, to Chesed on the Lake of Mists.
When he was younger his father had told him the tales of his friendship with the stalwart and ever-faithful Six Shadowstone, how even when Emrys doubted him, the much-maligned dwarf stayed true. He also told of the fateful day of how a giant robotic insect creature, which everyone had taken to be a simple construct vehicle, tore away Six's soul, along with those of countless angels. Killian hated the lack of justice to this story, and as a result garnered a burning hatred for robots. Occasionally on the plains of Numeria he would encounter automotons and animated fragments of larger constructs. These he took to flattening out as scrap metal to the tune of their synthetic wails (Trait: Robot Slayer).
An earthbreaker isn't a kellid weapon. He was sold his first of this shoanti weapon by a passing Varisian troupe, along with a bunch of dreamcatchers and similar tat. Whilst this first was fairly shoddy and he soon had to seek out a replacement, he found that the style of weapon suited his combat style -- which was to get his opponent stunned and pound the helpless mother into a thin paste/sheet.
His interupted and rather non-standard education left some holes that haven't adequately been filled (Drawback: Unlearned. Religion is the only knowledge skill that he can attempt untrained.)
Killian's religous outlook had been fairly confused. His father was a paladin of Iomedae and his mother a one-time priest of Asmodeus. Neither parent strongly advocated either faith, possibly out of respect for the other, so as such the temple of Abadar always ended up the neutral ground in his early childhood. Later in his life along the pilgrim route he ended up just as comfortable with black-clad hellknights as he was with crusaders of Iomedae (Ease of Faith). In time, and with the cryptic influences of passing priests, he found himself being drawn to the order of the Godclaw, combining as it does, a number of contridictions in his own life, and bringing a degree of discipline. He has a small volume from the order, with philosophical tracts, prayers and meditations which he has tried to study. Understandaly though, it's the not the most accessible of faiths, particularly without a teacher. Neverthless, it is currently filling a void for him. One night, as he sat pondering a particular verse in the volume, as he read the line, "Ours is the arm that bears the torch in the night" he looked up to see a great flame on the horizon to the southwest. He blinked back down at the page to try to find his place again and his eyes lit on the line "And there we found our desinty." He closed the book. In the morning he set off to the town of Torch.
