20th Rova AR4715; 08:00 (Week 6, Day 1; Silver Ravens summary)
With the introduction of Chang as the lead recruiter for the Silver Ravens, Dr. Corvus Morgan has been relegated to the role of a strategist while taking some time to hand over the responsibilities of the recruiter.
The merchants headed out for the week and managed to earn 26 gold sails for the party. Business has been slow-going lately as the toll on the Bleakbridge slowed trade down.
The failure to recruit additional supporters is probably due to the dissension in the ranks. Rumours has it that the Silver Ravens is going to get sued until they lose their pants and thus, being afraid to be associated with a loser rebellion, nobody dares to openly oppose Barzillai Thrune.
Dissension in the ranks! Arising from conflicting views on how the Silver Ravens should help the city, Laria Longroads felt helpless to stop 4 supporters from leaving. Thankfully, they have not been exposed to the secret hideout underneath the Coffeehouse yet. The quad wanted the Silver Ravens to begin an uprising, but felt that the group is only going outside and levelling up instead of really rebelling and thus, disgusted, they left. Morale is low as there are murmurings that this is the limit of what the Silver Ravens can do. (-4 penalty to all Organization checks for the next week).
Does any Silver Ravens officer want to speak up to mitigate the damage from the loss of supporters?

As the Ravens wake up from their slumber and begins to walk up to the Coffeehouse for breakfast, the town crier quickly runs around town, distributing the latest Proclamation.
"By Order of Lord-Mayor Barzillai Thrune, the congress of Hellknights known as the Order of the Torrent is from this day forward stripped of it's Charter! All of it's holdings and possessions are confiscated, it's privileges and entitlements revoked, and it's members declared outlaws! Steadfast citizens are commanded to turn over those members who have slipped the net of Justice!"
Reaction by the citizenry are mixed. Even though most Kintargoans are not fond of the overly strict Hellknights, but they have done good by the city, helping kidnapped citizens from monsters, slavers or even pirates.

Backtracking a little...
On the 10th of Rova, when it is supposed to be celebrating the independence of Cheliax from Taldor, the feelings are muted as the citizenry is under a different type of oppression under Paracount Barzillai Thrune.
On the 19th of Rova, many of the Silver Ravens noted that some supporters who worship Iomedae touches the symbol of Iomedae and mutter a quick prayer, as if giving thanks. The older elves in particular seem to be truly grateful for this particular day as their devotion to Iomedae looks extremely sincere.

Does any Silver Ravens officer want to speak up to mitigate the damage from the loss of supporters? Charlotte will take up the mantle to mitigate the damage from the loss of supporters. She will speak out on this. "It is regretful that not all are patient enough to see the things and events that are unfolding in Kintargo, in their haste they choose to leave. We are no tyrants or oppressive authority and if they wish to leave so long as they do not bring ruin to us, we should not stop them, in fact, we should wish them all the best for their future in a place where life gets harsher by the day without a shoulder to lean on.
But they should know that they are choosing to leave the chance of really making a difference when the time comes and that only by standing together and supporting each other can we all survive the oppression that shall most definitely get worse, the ERP toll at the bridge is the beginning of even more ridiculous laws Thrune is going to set down.
So I urge all of you to believe that we will bring the change, in fact, recent events have sent Thrune not wanting to comment or act, he has grown frightened of us and we shall keep it this way! Eventually, he will feel powerless to stop us once we have enough supporters, to leave now would mean missing out on making history, changing your lives for the better and making Kintargo great again!"
Base +15 Diplomacy to mitigate the damage from the loss of supporters!

Charlotte's words brought some calmness to their supporters, but their faith is a little shaken. Hopefully, with the coming of the new week, it will restore calmness if all things progress smoothly. (Oratory success! -2 to Organization checks instead of -4)

21st Rova AR 4715, 06:00
On the way out, Lieutenant Nones, a gunslinger of the Chelish Navy requested the party to meet her Captain, Captain Cassius Sargaeta of the Chelish Navy ship, the Scourge of Belial.
He needs help getting a letter to his gay lover, Marquel Aulorian, who is confined by his father. He is guarded by Gorefangs, a three-headed dog, also known as a cerberi. After Kea and Leaf engaged the cerberi, Vivi herself delivered the letter and fled the area with Marquel. Having finally reunited with his lover, Captain Cassius Sargaeta agrees to pledge his help to the Silver Ravens. Apparently, he knows who the Silver Ravens are.
Dr. Corvus and Chang on the other hand, wanted to join in the delivery mission, but Corvus not wanting to get wet, decides to return back to his clinic. Along the way, Corvus sees someone carving up a young boy. Hiding in the shadows, Corvus was unnoticed but the sudden arrival of Chang causes the man to flee before more could be done. The kid's mother came over and starts crying when she sees her dead son, but by then, Chang and Corvus have retreated from the scene before the dottari came and put them into trouble. The mother was arrested for breaching curfew btw, despite her grief from losing her child.
Charlotte on the other hand, as she was resting in the Tooth and Nail, felt herself being watched. Looking around, she saw a quick glimpse of a Tien woman before she mysteriously disappears.
---------- 27th Rova AR 4715, 06:00 (Week 7, Day 1)
Finally comfortable that the Silver Ravens are trustworthy, Lictor Octavio Sabinus calls the party to gather.
“The Lucky Bones was, to the public, a gambling hall and opium den. In truth, the building was a front for a guild of Balgorrah thieves and abductors known as the Gray Spiders. When my order learned the Gray Spiders were involved in a kidnapping and slavery ring tied to the cult of Norgorber, we confronted them. They responded by assassinating Lictor Reya, our heroic founder. In turn, we brought the full might of the Order of the Torrent down on them, and when we were done, the Gray Spiders were no more. But then Lictor Reya’s successor, Lictor Yehl, made the curious choice to seal the Lucky Bones rather than fully explore it. It was shortly afterward that others in the order discovered that Yehl and some of his subordinates had sought to preserve the Gray Spiders’ ill-gotten gains for themselves and had planned to return to the complex to loot it. Yehl and the others were charged with corruption and expelled, and command of the Torrent passed to Lictor Arcamo Hyrmagus, but no one ever followed up with the Lucky Bones. Lictor Arcamo was ashamed of the entire episode and forbade any of the rest of us from investigating it, and in time, it all mercifully slipped from memory. But those chambers still exist below the ruined gambling hall—chambers that were never mapped or officially reported. For all intents and purposes, they do not exist. Sounds to me to be the perfect place for a rebellion to set up shop... provided someone first scouts the place out to ensure nothing unwanted has moved in!”
This can only mean one thing. He wants you to secure the caves under the Lucky Bones! With it secured, the Ravens will have two places to hole up, the Wasp Nest and the Lucky Bones!

Silver Raven Actions
The secret votes have decided to Recruit Supporters and to Recruit another Team to help out. Chang have successfully drawn 10 supporters into the folds of the Ravens. Torn between upgrading a team and guaranteeing an event, the group is at an impasse. They will have to decide to what team to recruit too!
Chang eventually recruited a troupe of street performers who will keep their eyes peeled whilst putting their ear to the ground in Kintargo. The supporters also seize their own initiative and start creating a ruckus, guaranteeing an event to take place!
This unrest causes the streets in Kintargo to be more dangerous, increasing the danger rating by 10! A rebellion officer can attempt to spread word about the Ravens' strength, thereby halving the danger rating to 5 instead.

There have also been strange rumours of the water turning red in places where it shouldn't be. These are most often found in the sewers beneath Kintargo, but the reddish tinge seems to be gradually spreading. It might eventually reach the Yorubilis River if left unchecked.
Word on the ground is that a halfling boy from the village of Shapic (the village which you travelled to get to the wizard tower), is looking for the same group of travellers who passed by their village last month.

27th Rova AR 4715, 06:00 (Week 7, Day 1)
Exploring the Lucky Bones, the party stumbled upon a cult of Mahathallah, led by the sweet shop lady, Luculla Gens. She was attempted to garner further favour from the demi-goddess by capturing the locals and sacrificing them to her twisted God. The cult stood no chance against the Silver Ravens as they rescued the two teenagers and returned them to the Iudeimes Tenement. (The Silver Ravens gains an additional 7 supporters during the next Upkeep phase.)
Hetamon Haace, leader of the Rose of Kintargo managed to secure the party's aid in tracking the copycat killer, whose modus operandi is strangely reminiscent of that of the Temple Hill Slasher. Using a little sleuthing, and canvassing the area, they tracked the possible killer to that of an artisan from Vespam's Artisans called Varl Wex. A cripple, the party lies in wait in his apartment, waiting to confront him while the group of Leaf, Charlotte and Corvus acted as an open bait.
Dispatching him, the party realizes that the real culprit is that of Balgorrah, a glowing kukri that imposes it's will on people who are weak-willed. That is probably how the modus operandi is so similar to that of the Temple Hill Slasher. Perhaps, the Temple Hill Slasher is commanded by the blade too! With the murders solved, the party sold Balgorrah to the temple of Abadar as they offered a substantial renumeration in exchange of keeping the blade out of evil-doers' hands.

28th Rova AR 4715, 06:00 (Week 7, Day 2)
A second romp through the Lucky Bones through the door now reveals some undead which the party laid to rest permanently. One of which is the ghost of one of the former guildmasters of the now defunct Gray Spiders, that of Lorelu, a gambling loving halfling. They also stumbled upon another floor to the lower level of the Lucky Bones, whom the Gray Spiders refers to as the Smuggler's Tunnels.
An intricate statue with gemstones for eyes, Vivi is quick enough to recognize that the Hell's Coda is a key to unlocking it, which they did. Deciding to go back up and rest, the party will proceed down to the final level of the Lucky Bones and cleanse it of all things foul, once and for all!

29th Rova AR4715, 06:00 (Week 7, Day 3)
Discovering that the entire smuggler's tunnels are flooded, only the brave Leaf and Erzi ventured into the submerged chambers. After dispatching a few skum, the paladin of Abadar, Vivi, joined the group and scout out the place with Alodia. They did find a secret tunnel which leads to a gear-locked door with 3 locks. While the rest of the party are discussing what to do with the door, Vivi continued her lone scouting and eventually perished in the deadly talons of shell sentinels, constructs created by the aboleths, ancient beings who ruled the world when it was still young.
Not realizing that Vivi died, Alodia and Chang came up with the idea of using dimension door to circumvent the gear door and for that, they get bonus XP for ingenuity! In the vault, they found 3 chests, which are locked, the keys with Vivi... So they have to devise a plan to recover the body.
Not before slaying the random skum and reefclaws who are swimming outside though! With them dead, the party fought the shell sentinels mano a mano as the single narrow corridor makes combat difficult. With one, they had some difficulty fighting it, but luckily, Chang possessed the other one, despite it being a mindless thing and proceeded to destroy the shell sentinel and subjecting itself to attacks from the party, thus, easily destroying the both of them.
What's behind the shell sentinels? They found 5 sea elves who claimed to have come from the village of Acisazi and are looking for help from Shensen. With Shensen missing, and Kintargo ruled by Barzillai Thrune, the group seems extremely distraught.
Having spent considerable resources in the recovery of Vivi Jhaltero's body, the Ravens decided to rest once again.
Also, Paracount Barzillai Thrune would also like to reward the Silver Ravens for protecting Kintargo. He realizes that he has done wrong and would like to personally reward the party for their service to the city. The event will take place on the 1st of Lamashan, which is tomorrow at Aria Park at noon.

30th Rova AR4715, 06:00 (Week 7, Day 4)
The Ravens took the time to send Vivi Jhaltero to the House of Golden Veils so that she can be given a burial appropriate to the Bankers of Abadar. Enroute, they came across a strange dwarf who calls himself Shamri Waver, mentor of Vivi Jhaltero when she was a teenager.
Leaving him to grieve alone, the party undertook several sidequests as well. Finding a replacement for one of the wheels which can provide fresh air in the Smuggler's tunnels beneath the Lucky Bones, they also scouted out the area around the Opera House in case it is a trap. With sufficient preparations, the party felt confident enough to escape should there be an actual trap.
Dr Corvus' clinic seen a downturn as Barzillai Thrune gave the church of Asmodeus 5,000 sails to heal the elderly and the infirm. As such, some of the citizenry felt that perhaps, Barzillai Thrune is indeed turning for the better. One can only hope.
The dwarf Shamri Waver also found a job teaching as a professor in the Alabaster Academy.
1st Lamashan AR 4715, 12:00 (Week 7, Day 5)
The party assembles, some sought replacements, like Alodia and Charlotte. Some hid amongst the crowd like Shamri, ready for trouble. As expected, a sizable force of Hellknights and even the Senior Prelate, Corinstian Grivenner was present too. Paracount Barzillai seems sincere in giving out multiple belts and headbands to the party. He mentioned that he realizes that he felt that he was wrong and it is time to make reparations. Even the Chinaman Tian-Shu man, Chang, got one.
It was then that Chang realises that Barzillai Thrune and Trailblazer Hun is one and the same. The mannerisms are unmistakable. Swearing revenge upon him, Chang holds his temper for now, for, attacking in the presence of a good amount of Hellknights is almost suicidal.
Feeling anti-climatic, the Ravens back off and disposing of most of the good items (belts and headbands +2, they fear it's a tracking device), one of the Silver Ravens supporter ran off (with the belt of incredible dexterity +2) after it was exposed that Alodia was just using her as a bait.
After the ceremony, and feeling vindicated, the party heads off once again to the hamlet of Shapic, where giants threaten to smash the hamlet should nobody attend to them. The hill giants, feeling confident, wanted to have a good life and thus wants the puny humans around them to service them. Despite having several rangers in the hamlet, they will not stand a chance against a warband of giants and thus, the villagers once again send for the Silver Ravens.
At the giants' lair, the giants just wants the adventurers to clean their boots, three times a day, six days a week. Knowing that such menial labour will promise the death of their adventuring careers, the scheming Ravens plotted their deaths the very same night. Leaving the most adept of boot-cleaners (due to generous application of prestidigitation spells) with the giants, the group split up.
After rendezvousing at night, the party managed to slaughter the huge group of sleeping giants as Chang possessed the giant sentry. The fight did not last long as most giants were slain in their sleep. With the threat eliminated, the party also managed to recover a gnome paladin on a warpony statue.
An iron urn was also found in the area, and they concluded that the gnome might have unwittingly released a powerful creature which turned him and his warpony into stone. With this knowledge, the party heads back to Shapic to report and heads back to Kintargo.

#Session 23
2nd Lamashan AR 4715; 06:00 (Week 7, Day 6)
The Ravens decided to help Kea out with rescuing her kin. Travel took a day and on reaching, and dispatching a simple carrion crawler, the party parleyed with the slavers. It was apparent that they were forced to live this lifestyle as Thrune turns man against man and they were driven out of Kintargo. Convincing them to join the Ravens, the ex-slavers let the slaves go, but Kea was snubbed by her very own kin as someone who throws her forces with the evil, enslaving slavers.
On the way back to Kintargo, the group picked up the valve wheel and proceeded to fix the smuggler's tunnels air-generating machine but not before slaying the drowning devil, Shurshugot. There were a few ulat-kini too but they fled before the Ravens could get them. With the Smugglers' Tunnels fully cleared, the party have two fully established bases.
Barzillai Thrune is trying to recruit the noble houses to his cause by throwing a party at the Academy, Dr. Corvus tries to get closer to the dottari, Chang was deeply engrossed with his book that he bought off the slaver, and Kea managed to take over Luculla Gens' confectionary store for a mere 3 gold sails a month, a pittance! She sub-con it out to Laria who offers to pay Kea 5 gold a month.
Lictor Octavio Sabinus was requested to train 29 ex-slavers in the ways of the Order of the Torrent at the nearby village of Shapic.
The Silver Ravens themselves decided to ask the Rose of Kintargo for help in procuring magical healing potions, and leaving them in the Lucky Bones. They failed to gather any information on the going ons of Kintargo but with the charismatic Chang helping recruit, an additional 15 supporters throw in their support for the Ravens!
With Paracount Barzillai Thrune seeming to really throw his weight to rule the city with a just hand, the week passes uneventfully for the Silver Ravens and the citizens of Kintargo.
As the Glorious Reclamation is taking hold over the south, the tax on Bleakbridge has been increased to 2 sails per trip or 10 sails for a day pass. The boats at the river offers to give passengers a ride across the Yolubilis River for a few coppers. A mere pittance compared to the cost of the toll on the bridge. The tax is due to the loss of much income from the Glorious Reclamation and thus, Barzillai Thrune have no choice but to increase the tax.
