Summary:
Act 1
The adventure begins with the Pathfinders travelling to The River Kingdoms and getting to a standing in a clearing in the Wilewood in the southwestern River Kingdoms near the elf kingdom of Kyonin.
Here a green hag named Aelzeldra holds the final piece of Passion’s Edge (a cursed sword) the Pathfinders are ordered to collect. Disguising herself as a pretty damsel in distress, Aelzeldra sought to trick the Pathfinders into letting their guard down and then ambush them. Unfortunately for her, the Pathfinders were well informed that she would use such trickery and Devin Drake purposely acted as bait to 'save' the 'damsel' in order for the rest to jump on Aelzeldra. The poor hag was cut down in mere seconds as Jenson landed a devastating blow and Bamm Bamm finished her off with his raging power attack that chopped off the ugly hag's head before the rest could even attack!
The Pathfinders could then take their time to eventually find the final piece of Passion’s Edge.
Act 2
The Pathfinders set off farther upriver to the town of Sevenarches. On the first night that they stopped to rest, the ghost of the slain green hag Gresaril emerges from the cursed sword fragment and attacks the unprepared Pathfinders! Starting with the bearer of the sword pieces, Devin Drake, the ghost badly hurt the gunslinger and when the Pathfinders awoke to retaliate, they were greeted with a corrupting gaze that damaged the poor Strider and Oloch with Charisma damage!
Fortunately, the ghost was quickly put down with the numbers advantage that the party had.
Act 3
After a few days, the Pathfinders reach Sevenarches and meet up with fellow Pathfinder and Venture Captain of the River Kingdoms, Parke Rangston, who is schooled in the field of swords. Rangston studies the falchion and manages to get the fragments to fuse back together and form the blade anew... however, Rangston is then possessed with supernatural rage and vengeance, suddenly lashing out at the Pathfinders with the newly reformed Passion’s Edge!
The savvy Pathfinders were well prepared for such an event where the blade would possess the Venture Captain, they immediately surrounded him and used every non-lethal attack to knock out the possessed Pathfinder. Knocking the Venture Captain back to his senses, he is able to inform the Pathfinders how to break the curse: Slay the harpy Tylaca.
Conveniently, Tylaca was last seen in a nearby ruined cathedral with her minions. Rangston also mentions to the Pathfinders that the harpy and her minions will stop at nothing to get the sword back as they prepare their equipment and tactics to combat the harpies.
Act 4
The Pathfinders make their way to a ruined cathedral and encounter a trio of harpies that have protected Tylaca's still body for a decade. Well prepared to counter the harpies' captivating song, Oloch casted Silence upon the center most party member as they fought the annoying archer flyers, eventually overcoming them with bows and guns. With the minions down, they could finally confront Tylaca. The colorful harpy was a tough flying hard to hit combatant until Devin Drake and Maximus brought out their guns to once again show their technological superiority and eventually took down the outmatched harpy.
With Tylaca dead, the cursed sword starts to produce a mist and then quickly dissipates - the slain hag passes to the Great Beyond now that the targets of her rage are dead and the curse is lifted!
Conclusion
Now holding the fabled sword, the Pathfinders return to Absalom, delivering the weapon to Venture Captain Shevala Iorae as she gurantees their names would be in the chronicles of how they broke the curse of this sword.
