Known to her faithful as She of Many Faces or the Mistress of Masks, Vysanthe believes in self-preservation above all else. She favors those quick of mind and fleet of foot, and believes in resolving most situations peacefully, not because of pacifist reasons, but because it's generally the "safest" path to take. When facing those who glory in slaughter and combat, and who aren't interested in negotiations, Vysanthe preaches that death should be swift and silent.
History
Vysanthe, a Fetchling woman went by many names during her early years. Orphaned at a young age, she grew up in a travelling circus, and often caused mayhem due to her shadowy abilities of disguise. She was exceptionally close to the fortune teller, an old woman who communed with the spirits, and it was a short time later that Vysanthe herself began dabbling in the arts of spirit binding. In her teenage years, the circus was ravaged when a blight druid caused the animals to run amuck, killing many in the process. Vysanthe found herself alone and unwittingly joined a demonic cult, where she honed her binding abilities. Unfortunately, things went wrong, and during a particularly powerful summoning, she found herself in over her head, and although she escaped with her life, she ultimately lost herself.
What exactly she lost is a secret kept to time, but it was reported that Vysanthe disappeared from the annals of history for a good ten or so years. However, it was reported that there were various characters that seemed to resemble her appearing in Kenebras, who all supposedly perished during the attack from the Storm King. Her name soon cropped up again later, as a crusader and leader of a group of heroes who fought the demonic armies in the Worldwound.
After the battle, she took the test of the Starstone, bringing all the people she saved during her crusade even greater glory.
Vysanthe has numerous servants, here are some notable ones.
Laurentius: Her close companion during her final mortal years during the world wound threat. She eventually wrested him from Zon-Kuthon's corruption and he became her herald.
Millon : Her first believer, the cultist of Baphomet who was swayed by her honeyed words and promises for glory.
The Church of Vysanthe
Vysanthe's clergy have a slight reputation of being selfish b-tards. Living by her values, they are not altruistic and do not hand out charity as some of the others might. Instead, they believe that everyone should be self-sufficient and instead have various avenues where many can find work in order to survive, even the handicap and ill. Her clergy does not discriminate between race and religion and everyone from all walks of life are given aid. The clergy is often consulted to mediate due to their impartiality and their sweet tongues.
The base of operations is in Kenebras, the headquarters of the resistance that combated the Worldwound.
Worshipers and Clergy
A large portion of Vysanthe's priests are composed of bards, rogues, sorcerors, rangers and a few clerics and druids. Quite a large percentage of the priests own their own businesses or are in some form of trade or service industry. A common form of worship involves sacrificing magical items and valuables to Vysanthe as a form of thanksgiving, all offerings and sacrifices have to be made with the left hand - as it is nearer the heart (although in truth, this habit formed due to some nonsensical quick talking during the goddess's earlier adventuring days.)
The highest members of the clergy possess either a Mask of Deception, or Crown of Silence, replicas of the artifact used by Vysanthe herself during the battles in the Worldwound. The Crown lends a little of the Mistress's commanding presence to the user, while the mask are used by those fleet of foot and bestowed a portion of the shadowy powers of her race.

Temples of Vysanthe
The temples of Vysanthe tend to be decorated with hanging silks and dimly illuminated. They are usually airy structures and refurbished abandoned cathedrals or large buildings.
