The adventure carries on as the heroes makes it back safely to Renyaec and reported to their individual faction leaders and the council.
After a week passed, the heroes were summoned again by the council members and briefed on the council's latest findings and their next objectives. The heroes are to raid a Priory's secret underground library and retrieve a book that may uncover the Pale Master's next move.
The heroes rushed through the Priory's library defenses and cleared out its bug wardens. They recovered the book and found some pages missing. The heroes proceeded next to the home of the library's keeper and convinced her to reveal the name of the last person who borrowed the book.

After arriving in Renyaec, Anferno brought Leila, Captain Jack Bluebird and the 12 followers to House Germaine and found them cheap lodgings. He then reported his findings on the Tradeswind and the Pale Master to his Boss Lars Germaine and persuaded him for permission to form, train up his own crew as an Underboss.
After meeting with the council and until the next summoning (1 week downtime), Anferno recruited the 14 survivors and started their training. The training included payment collection, art of diplomacy and intimidation, basic security training and protocols, gang warfare and personal grooming.
Anferno also extended his own and House Germaine's influence by conducting the following activities... Senior's District - opening of gambling dens and helping old people cross the streets. Market District - providing security services and enforcing trade agreements. Slums Distict - opening of soap kitchen for the poor and free basic education for the orphans. Industrial District - persuading more companies to join Germaine's Workers' Union.
As for Leila the level 3 rogue, she is being psycho-ed to be an assassin. As for Captain Jack Bluebird, he is being taught by Anferno's "lawyer friend" on managing businesses.

Disaad hissed as his ribs cracked under the onslaught of the Outsider Frog's grapple.
He felt his unlife ebbing away. The Long Dark loomed at the fringes of his consciousness. His abilities were as good as harmless to these Outsiders, with their damage resistance. Very soon he would join his Mother in the Long Dark...
"No, Mother! You shall not go unavenged!" he screamed in his mind.
His singleness of purpose re-ignited by thoughts of his mother, dispelled any thoughts of fading away. From resignation, he now reveled in his current situation. It was training. No doubt his father, being an outsider, would have similar defences. He needed to out-think these outsiders, do something they did not expect, so that when the time came, he would have a plethora of surprises to unleash upon his father.
Reaching into his bandolier, he drew out a potion. One that he kept for himself in times of need. Indeed this was such a time, but the manner of its usage was one that did not cross his mind before.
As the Outsider frog opened its gaping maw to bite his head, Disaad placed the delicate glass vial into its waiting tongue, then he closed its mouth and applied a forceful palm to its throat.
The vial containing the potion of cause moderate wound shattered under the impact, releasing its contents down the Outsider's gullet. The Outsider Frog gagged, its eyes wide with terror as the potion was absorbed by its body. And that was the last thing that it registered before exploding in a shower of blood and guts, leaving Disaad, drenched, almost dead (again), but victorious.

meanwhile... Anferno wakes up and finds himself in a hospital, handcuffed.
Just then, a hot nurse walks in.
"Oh my! You're awake!... You were very lucky did you know that? After leaving the nightclub all drunk, you went streaking in public! Then you flew onto a 30-man royal rumble match at the arena and won! Then the guards came, and you gave them quite a chase! You were even spotted peeing on the front lawn of the public library!... shortly after...you just collapsed."

Master,
As you no doubt would have heard from the report to the council, the artifact that the Pale Master seeks, is not the eyes of the dragon statue, but the teleportation device within the heart of the mountain. According to the village chief, it is a two-way portal that leads to many places, thus shortening travelling times. Such a device will greatly aid any military or espionage operation. However, it requires the eyes of the dragon, as well as the village key, to work, and only to places that the user has been to before.
Based on my analysis during my time in the village. I hypothesise that outsiders could try to access the device or the village by burrowing below the mountain peak and entering from inside the volcano to gain access to the village and the device.
Apparently, to access the village proper, a non-native requires the key, or a native inhabitant to bring them through the magical barrier. For us to access the village, we could also explore the possibility of either dominating a native inhabitant, or turning one of them into one of us. Although I am not sure how the magic of the barrier will affect such methods, it is something we can try if we wish to have access to the device.
Also, could you please send me some receptacles to keep the brains that I have harvested in a relatively stable condition? Although I do not require them to be fresh, it would be hard for me to consume them for their beneficial properties if they have decayed to the point of putrefaction.
Awaiting further instructions, if any.
To life immortal, Disaad
Disaad rolls up the message and stuffs it inside a brain of one of the human Pale Master followers slaughtered during the defence of the village, wraps it up in some snow and places it in a leather bag.
He hands the bag with its frozen grizzly contents to Anferno and says, "Please pass this to our courier when they make their next delivery for our resupply. It is a souvenir for Two-Lives."
