Staklo contemplates Adlam's magic shortswords. Damn legio weapons! But with the restless dead these are going to come in handy. Somewhere some evil mofo is parading around in Adlam's body. Staklo straps on the swords and vows to use them to put his friend -- one of only a handful he would so call -- properly to rest.

The heroes rested for the night with the villagers, only to be awaken by a foul construct that emerged from the crypts below, which they slain quickly. To their surprise, yet more villagers went missing, including a young girl. The heroes immediately descended into the crypts to save the villagers and to find a way out of the village.
In the crypts, the heroes found a library with the blueprints of the church and a lab with potions. In the last room, was a vampire's chamber. Negotiations were short and the battle took place. Vampire slain and covered with holy water, the young girl was recovered alive within the lair. Her name is Clementine and was in shock and screaming. One of the heroes decided to paralyse her to shut her up.
Past the vampire's chamber, awaits the Pale Master, his assistants and dozens of minions participating in an unholy ritual. The Pale Master notices the heroes and makes his evil speech. The ritual completes before the heroes could stop it. An angel appeared above the altar and was captured by the Pale Master and hordes of minions blocked the heroes.
As sudden as the angel appeared, as quickly as the Pale Master and his assistants teleported away with the captured angel. The minions all drop dead, as though the puppet master just released his puppets. The heroes investigated and looted the room and found a door leading out to the docks with a boat. Before the heroes leave, they returned back upstairs and to their horror, found the villagers all dead. Apparently, the unholy summoning ritual had used the villagers all as sacrifice.
Oh well, with Clementine paralysed in the corner, it was time to settle the loot.

Anferno makes a call on his communication device to his "lawyer friend", informing him of what was discovered on the Tradeswind, the sighting of the Pale Master and the capture of an angel.
Anferno also informs him that the party had been unwillingly teleported away from Renyaec and will be making their way back to the city asap. The party has suffered no casualties. He asks if there are recent activities in Renyaec, specifically about the Uncaste and of any new objectives...

Disaad goes next to Clementine and whispers into her ear,"Fear not little one, it issss not forever. But bear in mind that if you are not sssilent, the walking dead will feassst on your tender flessshhhh."
He then goes to each and every fallen foe to decapitate them, ensuring that they will not catch the party unawares from behind. While doing so, he does take a snack now and then, away from the party's prying eyes. Then he approaches the loot pile and picks up the unclaimed potion of cause light wounds, and places it in Anferno's hand.
"Better take one... for emergensssieesss."

Staklo woke at the satisfying climax of his dream -- hot fluids of the Frenchman spurting on his chin and neck -- with his morning wood nestled comfortably against the dozing Germaine agent. Strange, when he had settled down for the night he had made sure he was in reach of Emeron of Vraxys; Anferno must have slipped in between them. Staklo raised a calculating eyebrow; each new twist presaged fresh opportunities to be exploited.

Mai's hand twitched reflexively as he watched the abomination move away from Clementine. How he longed to thrust his blade into the monster's twisted heart but he mastered himself with a will. He did not understand how the girl could elicit such depth of emotion. Perhaps she reminded him of her? The idea was preposterous, still...
The mists still draped the river Yi like the breath of fairies, descended from the celestial courts to frolic above the abode of the dragon kings. Where they danced, the morning light fractured, sending rainbows sliding across the water's surface. His breath steaming in the air, added small puffs of cloud to the illusion.
Mai drank in the beauty like a starving man, but his eyes were not always on the landscape.
"Why are you following me?" the lady accused, her own blue and grey flecked irises fixed on the scenery. While Mai groped for an answer, she whispered, softer this time, like a sigh. " Do you know who I am?" On surer ground, Mai replied, "You are Lady Xue er of the Snow Bird Pavilion also known as the Snow princess because of the colour of your hair and your consummate skill in dance." Mai gave a little bow. And you are Mai Ren Qing, second disciple of Mo Ke of the House Aralis." countered the girl hotly. Not that we have exchanged courtesies please leave."
"The exquisite beauty of the River Yi, should not be enjoyed alone."
There was a twinge of amusement from her, but just then the wind blew of the lake and she shivered involuntarily. The next thing she knew delicate yet powerful hands were gently placing a sable cloak around her shoulders. She acknowledged the gesture by pulling the cloak tighter around her svelte frame. Her next words were spoken to the wind, so soft were they yet they fell on attentive ears.
"Then you know that we can never be together." She felt him stiffen then relax.
"I will consider myself blessed just to be able to gaze at such beauty every day." Mai turned to see that she was scrutinising him intently.
"Beware the beauty of the River Yi, for its chill is as cold and merciless as the Winter's kiss. Once it has entered your heart, it will kill you." The tone was light but not at all mocking.
"Milady..." A long elegant finger was held to his lips.
"That remains to be seen." This time, the smile reached her eyes.
Mai shook himself his reverie and reached for the comforting weight of his sword. He pulled it halfway out of its scabbard to read the caligraphy as he had done thousands of times before. The reason for his sword and its name. Yi Shui Han. The Chill of the River Yi.

The heroes were having a good night's rest when an unexpected visitor makes herself known. Leila as she calls herself, was part a group that left the village to survive from the undead hordes. Sadden by the deaths of all the villagers in the church, she invited the heroes to follow her to the swamp, where her group is at. Mai and Clement remained in the safe confines of the church.
Making their way out into the swamp, the heroes finally arrived at the camp and were introduced to Captain Jack Bluebird, their leader and apparently the only one knowledgeable to captain a ship. A plan was quickly put together...
1) The magical darkness surrounding the village and the coastal waters must be dispelled somehow, in order for the survivors to escape the island. 2) The source of the darkness is found to be coming from a house in the village. 3) The solution to dispelling the darkness can be found out from a witch, living deep within the swamp.
With Master's Emeron's talents, Captain Jack was very motivated to return to the village, to ready the ship for departure. And Leila decided to travel with the heroes to find the witch.
After finding and a successful negotiation between with the witch and the devilishly charismatic Anferno, the witch offered to help only if the heroes vanquished her failed experiment. The heroes agreed and went in search of it.
The heroes engaged an abomination of something that isn't quite a man, and yet wasn't quite a beast. With its 2 quilled beast pets, the monsters gave their all but was crippled with paralysis dealt out by the heroes' sparkling ranger. The beasts were slained, its death proven to the witch and she brewed a solution to the darkness and tonic soup for the heroes. The heroes cheered as they drank their rewards and wasn't quite sure how after waking up, found themselves back in the village's church.
The heroes found the church empty and pushed on to their next objective, the house with the darkness source. They entered to the basement and found a large polished orb. Its sinister magics negated by the witch's solution, a potion of daylight. As the heroes emerged into a clearing sky with the orb in hand, they heard cries coming from the docks and rushed over.
Harpies were attacking a ship, operated by Captain's Jack crew and Mai was onboard with them, defending Clementine. The heroes charged bravely and engaged the harpies, eliminating the threat quickly with renew energies that they received from the witch's brew.
The heroes now set sail for Renyaec as they dinged level 5.
People on board the ship The 6 heroes Clementine, the 6 yr old girl Leila, the ranger/rogue npc Captain Jack Bluebird 12 other villagers, 9 male, 3 female

Anferno purposely bumps his elbow on Leila's arm as he turn around the corner of the deck, onboard the ship that is sailing to Renyaec.
"Oh sorry, I didn't see you there!... You did very well back on the island. You know, I'm always on the lookout for talents in service for the betterment of Renyaec, perhaps you would be interest. There's alot of gold to be made, why don't we talk somewhere private..."
+16 diplomacy/+15 bluff to befriend and charm Leila. It's gonna be a week journey and Anferno suspects that Leila is down for some fun (aerial joyrides, underwater explorations, skeet shootings and other... things) to pass the time.

Anferno hands Staklo a potion of something. Nice and ambiguous. Thanks. Staklo will observe Anferno's famed elbow-waving technique and any effect this may have on young Leila. He will then be seen to breeze by at awkward times in the proceedings to give a salaciously knowing raise of the eyebrows to whichever party this might have the most detrimental effect on. From time to time he'll drop corny innuendos in passing, comments of surprise on Anferno's interest in females after his recent behaviour, and note his own availability in case the couple come to the realization that three is the magic number. Ultimately he'll attempt to KS Anferno's latest target, using his own charm (Cha 14, Bluff 7, Diplo 8), wit (Int 14) and better storytelling (Wiz 14) (lvl 4 stats).

Disaad assists the crew in piloting the ship, in an effort to speed up their voyage home.
The antics of Anferno and Stacklo do not escape his notice. He observes and wonders why the living let themselves get distracted and get caught up in such minor things when their time is already so short.
