Muster location: City Hall
The inaugural gathering of Pathfinders first sees the gathering of the Tiefling Barbarian Kairon Frost, the Elven Witch Huangying, the Human Druid Kevkas Waveharp, the Human Monk Li Hai and the Human Rogue Nikolai Kuznetsov sets off on their way to find Yargos Gill after being dispatched by the Pathfinder Society, in the hopes of securing an ancient tome he recently uncovered.
The party arrived in time to see Nessian's goons, the War Hounders kicked Yargos and his friends off a cliff into a watery grave, but thankfully, amongst them lies an old warrior who managed to hold on to the top of the cliff with what remains of his strength as he attempts to struggle to maintain his grip as his three other friends who were chained to him struggled not to panic. At this moment, brave Kairon rushed past the War Hounders, risking retaliation by the War Hounders in a brave dive to pull the old man up before losing his grip. With his demonic strength, Kairon single-handedly pulled the entire group up whilst his companions engaged the War Hounders. The War Hounders alas did not last long against the highly trained Pathfinder agents.
Yargos briefed the party on the history of the codebook and the need to stop Nessian as the codebook alone holds the key to stopping the resurrection of the Black Echelon and their unending quest to destroy Absalom. Their best bet to find Nessian is to inquire with Grandmaster Torch, a powerful information broker who understands the underworld of the Puddles District better than anyone.
On their way to the Grandmaster's lair, however, deep in the distance, they witness a flickering red signal light. Yargos realizes that the light signals Black Echelon to launch a team of operatives to poison Absalom's central granary and the party must take a diversion to stop Black Echelon from tainting one of the city's most important food stocks.
After surviving their first encounter with the silent skeletal killers, the party proceeded to meet with Grandmaster Torch. Unable to pay the information broker's fee, they must instead loan their expertise in exchange for the secret of Nessian's whereabouts. The Grandmaster has the party break into a series of stolen safes that he has recently acquired. The party succeeded and Torch holds up his end, revealing the location of Nessian's new base of operations hidden among a ruin of siege towers on the beach just outside of Absalom.
Initially, the party waited till nightfall before trying to sneak up on Nessian's lair. The witch Huangying attempted to conjure fool's gold to fool the War Hounders, hoping that greed might cause them to fight over the gold. Unfortunately, the War Hounders spent a larger part of the time arguing before the party decided enough was enough and rushed into the fray. At the top of the tower, the petty criminal lord Nessian was preparing to assist his men by providing sniper cover when Huangying unleashed a Sleep spell at Nessian in which he was unable to resist. He never woke up again as the party made short work of him and his men.
The party recovered the codebook, Yargos finds the correct pattern of colored light to replicate the abort signal to ensure that Black Echelon understands the war is over and can return to the grave, ending any possibility of the Silent Tide once and for all.
